Meet the Makers
Meet Ali the founder of Earth Harbor Naturals
She's a beach wanderer, herbalist and health scientist, who created Earth Harbor Naturals out of her treehouse kitchen. How amazing is that? Ali says, "Growing up on the beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia, I was instilled with a deep love of nature, the ocean, and island life at a young age. As a child, I created natural “beauty” concoctions to share with friends and family, from marsh mud masks to sea salt sprays. In grad school, I specialized in environmental health and toxicology. Through my scientific research, I learned how many toxins we are exposed to daily, how those synthetic chemicals negatively affect our health, and how to use beneficial natural alternatives instead. I wanted to make an impact with this knowledge.
My husband and I chose to live in an off-the-grid treehouse we built as we began overhauling our lifestyle. A short time later, I was in a near-fatal car accident. Recovery was slow, painful, and anxiety-ridden as I suffered from both physical and mental injuries. A time came when healing seemed to completely stop, and I thought I would never regain my pre-accident self. At this time, I also found out I was pregnant with my miracle baby boy! The culmination of these life-altering experiences is when I knew I had to take clean living to the next level by being more critical of what I was putting both in and on my body.
My biggest struggle with having a natural lifestyle was finding premium natural beauty products that lived up to my strict standards of being effective, ethical, purely natural, rooted in science, and all-around indulgent (while not breaking the bank!). That’s when I started making my own right out of my tiny treehouse kitchen — and Earth Harbor Naturals was born!
Meet Iris and Calvin founders of Honey Belle
According to Iris, "In 2013, my mom started developing skin allergies to department-brand products. My parents are both holistic doctors of natural medicine, so my mom realized she could use her knowledge about herbs. Shortly after, I developed psoriasis. I then became OBSESSED with reading EVERYTHING on my beauty bottles, but I realized everything natural and organic out there was really expensive--especially as a broke college student. So I started hitting the kitchen and making my own recipes to help out my own skin problems (acne, acne scarring, blackheads, dark circles--basically what every young woman deals with)."
When asked what makes her products different Iris said, "What makes my product different is that when a recipe is born, they’re used by real humans on a daily basis. And they’re constantly tweaked and adjusted until we really fall in love with them. They’re not created by a room full of investors, then in a lab environment with animals; they’re created by real humans, with real love, for an intention of natural healing. We use clean, natural, and organic ingredients, and create them in small-batches in our micro-factory in Southern California."
Here at The Beauty Barn we love this dynamic couple! They are some of the happiest business owners we have met! When asked how Calvin became a part of the mix Iris said, "When we were dating, Calvin would scratch like he had chicken pox 24/7. His eczema was pretty bad, and he didn’t really do much about it. I made him some soaps with oatmeal (to soothe his itching) and sea salt (he said the ocean really helped his skin). It worked; so I shared it with our customers. Then one day, I was at his house and I forgot my facial soap, so I cut a small piece off of his sea salt oatmeal soap bar and used it on my face, and my face was INSTANTLY brighter. Both soap bars are now classic customer favorites in our product collection."
The heart behind this couple is so genuine. They give back through their Soap for Souls Project. They said "Social impact is so important to us here at Honey Belle. Our company culture is driven by the value of compassion, and pinpointing how we can make a difference by helping others. With our #SoapsforSouls Project, we donate a soap for each bar of body soap purchased from us. This passion project was born out of an accidental turn into the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles. I saw a whole community out there, and I saw that they needed me. I thought to myself—'Well, what can I do to help them? I have lots and lots of soap. Soap will help them get clean and help stop the contamination of diseases!' So we ended up working with the downtown homeless shelters, and also work with a medical group that travels the world on medical missions to countries such as Guatemala, Nepal, Peru, Vietnam, Burma." We are very happy to be carrying such a wonderful line at The Beauty Barn!

Say hello to the brains behind our beauty range, Vikki Khan, who first fell in love with mineral makeup whilst travelling many moons ago. Meet Elexsis founder of The Makeup Eraser
It all began for Elexsis when she began cutting up a bathrobe to use to remove her makeup with every day. The way it magically removed all of her makeup gave her the "Aha" moment that she could be on to something big. She and her husband worked to turn her idea into a business which would grow to become The Makeup Eraser.
When international cosmetics giant Sephora started carrying the product, that’s when Lexi realized their little invention had hit the big time. "It validated its performance and made it a prestige beauty product. We turned a huge corner,” she said.
The Makeup Eraser is the #1 Sustainable makeup remover in the world. MakeUp Eraser removes ALL makeup (including waterproof) with just water! It is made of a proprietary cloth made of a premium polyester blend that acts as a suction to remove makeup when thoroughly soaked in warm water. MakeUp Eraser is cruelty & chemical-free, as well as antibacterial & safe for all skin types. Machine washable (up to 1,000 washes).
Our mission is to save landfills from unnecessary waste. Did you know 1.3 BILLION wipes end up in landfills each day - that’s 2x the waste of the plastic straw!
I love the entrepreneurial spirit behind this brand. I love how a simple idea can change a destiny and I love that this product is so gentle and safe for women to use to remove their makeup! We know you will love The Makeup Eraser!
Meet Jaz and Jamil founders of
Partners in life and in business, Jaz and Jamil started Yellow Beauty back in December 2015. Raised in a Bengali family, Jamil was first exposed to turmeric-based skincare on a trip to Bangladesh. At a family wedding, he experienced the Holud (Haldi) ceremony, which was one of the highlights of his visit. Unfortunately, a sad truth was revealed: a third of the girls in his homeland are married before their 18th birthday — and his own grandmother was married at just 9 years old. Together, Jaz and Jamil formulated natural turmeric-based products that just work with the goal to empower girls and help end child marriage in the process.

Meet Alexis founder of Whipped Up Wonderful
"I'm Alexis, founder of Whipped Up Wonderful. I've been making handmade, customized bath treats since 2010.
I began making soaps and bath bombs out of an urge to create bath and body products that didn't have unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients. Each of my recipes is researched and refined until I find the perfect combination of skin loving, earth friendly ingredients. Even the packaging and wrapping are chosen based on their carbon footprint. I believe ingredients should be biodegradable and packaging should make as small an impact on the environment as possible." These are the dreamiest bath bombs you'll ever use!
