Meet the Makers
Meet Amy Cornelius the founder of Glam and Grace
According to Amy, "The idea for Glam & Grace cosmetics began from my own personal need for non-toxic beauty products. Because of health issues, I developed severe sensitivities to chemicals. I needed products that were simple…products that didn’t cause irritation & inflammation - ones that weren’ t harmful to skin & health. I knew that if these were things I desperately needed, others needed them available too. It became very clear that everything I put in and on my body was either healing or harmful. I was dealing with inflammation and my store bought, big beauty brand products were compounding the issue and making things worse. I started really paying attention to ingredients - becoming aware of all the chemicals in all the common items we buy and how unnecessary they are.
I studied and researched. I began creating my own cosmetics with simple, clean ingredients. I personally experienced an incredible difference - no more irritation and my skin looked better then ever. I combined a need for non-toxic products with my love for color & style…my mission was clear. Glam & Grace cosmetics was born and we’re here to promote a non-toxic lifestyle for all!"
Glam & Grace is a handcrafted beauty & lifestyle brand. Made in small batches, our cosmetics are non-toxic, silicone free, paraben free & cruelty free
Meet Ali the founder of Earth Harbor Naturals
She's a beach wanderer, herbalist and health scientist, who created Earth Harbor Naturals out of her treehouse kitchen. How amazing is that? Ali says, "Growing up on the beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia, I was instilled with a deep love of nature, the ocean, and island life at a young age. As a child, I created natural “beauty” concoctions to share with friends and family, from marsh mud masks to sea salt sprays. In grad school, I specialized in environmental health and toxicology. Through my scientific research, I learned how many toxins we are exposed to daily, how those synthetic chemicals negatively affect our health, and how to use beneficial natural alternatives instead. I wanted to make an impact with this knowledge.
My husband and I chose to live in an off-the-grid treehouse we built as we began overhauling our lifestyle. A short time later, I was in a near-fatal car accident. Recovery was slow, painful, and anxiety-ridden as I suffered from both physical and mental injuries. A time came when healing seemed to completely stop, and I thought I would never regain my pre-accident self. At this time, I also found out I was pregnant with my miracle baby boy! The culmination of these life-altering experiences is when I knew I had to take clean living to the next level by being more critical of what I was putting both in and on my body.
My biggest struggle with having a natural lifestyle was finding premium natural beauty products that lived up to my strict standards of being effective, ethical, purely natural, rooted in science, and all-around indulgent (while not breaking the bank!). That’s when I started making my own right out of my tiny treehouse kitchen — and Earth Harbor Naturals was born!
Meet Iris and Calvin founders of Honey Belle
According to Iris, "In 2013, my mom started developing skin allergies to department-brand products. My parents are both holistic doctors of natural medicine, so my mom realized she could use her knowledge about herbs. Shortly after, I developed psoriasis. I then became OBSESSED with reading EVERYTHING on my beauty bottles, but I realized everything natural and organic out there was really expensive--especially as a broke college student. So I started hitting the kitchen and making my own recipes to help out my own skin problems (acne, acne scarring, blackheads, dark circles--basically what every young woman deals with)."
When asked what makes her products different Iris said, "What makes my product different is that when a recipe is born, they’re used by real humans on a daily basis. And they’re constantly tweaked and adjusted until we really fall in love with them. They’re not created by a room full of investors, then in a lab environment with animals; they’re created by real humans, with real love, for an intention of natural healing. We use clean, natural, and organic ingredients, and create them in small-batches in our micro-factory in Southern California."
Here at The Beauty Barn we love this dynamic couple! They are some of the happiest business owners we have met! When asked how Calvin became a part of the mix Iris said, "When we were dating, Calvin would scratch like he had chicken pox 24/7. His eczema was pretty bad, and he didn’t really do much about it. I made him some soaps with oatmeal (to soothe his itching) and sea salt (he said the ocean really helped his skin). It worked; so I shared it with our customers. Then one day, I was at his house and I forgot my facial soap, so I cut a small piece off of his sea salt oatmeal soap bar and used it on my face, and my face was INSTANTLY brighter. Both soap bars are now classic customer favorites in our product collection."
The heart behind this couple is so genuine. They give back through their Soap for Souls Project. They said "Social impact is so important to us here at Honey Belle. Our company culture is driven by the value of compassion, and pinpointing how we can make a difference by helping others. With our #SoapsforSouls Project, we donate a soap for each bar of body soap purchased from us. This passion project was born out of an accidental turn into the Skid Row area of Downtown Los Angeles. I saw a whole community out there, and I saw that they needed me. I thought to myself—'Well, what can I do to help them? I have lots and lots of soap. Soap will help them get clean and help stop the contamination of diseases!' So we ended up working with the downtown homeless shelters, and also work with a medical group that travels the world on medical missions to countries such as Guatemala, Nepal, Peru, Vietnam, Burma." We are very happy to be carrying such a wonderful line at The Beauty Barn!

Say hello to the brains behind our beauty range, Vikki Khan, who first fell in love with mineral makeup whilst travelling many moons ago. Meet Elexsis founder of The Makeup Eraser
It all began for Elexsis when she began cutting up a bathrobe to use to remove her makeup with every day. The way it magically removed all of her makeup gave her the "Aha" moment that she could be on to something big. She and her husband worked to turn her idea into a business which would grow to become The Makeup Eraser.
When international cosmetics giant Sephora started carrying the product, that’s when Lexi realized their little invention had hit the big time. "It validated its performance and made it a prestige beauty product. We turned a huge corner,” she said.
Meet Faith Kim founder of LASHFOOD
Born and raised in Orange, California, Faith's inspiration and hard work ethic came from her parents both Korean immigrants. “My dad grew up with no electricity, and he and my mom barely spoke English when they came to this country, but they’ve made huge successes of their lives,” she says. Kim along with her mother Jane were pioneers in the lash extensions industry. 14 years ago they introduced eyelash extensions to the U.S. But after years in the industry, they noticed their clients were vying for a natural alternative and a clean solution to strengthen their delicate lashes. “After years of working closely with lashes and our lash stylists, we felt there was a need for a serum that helped with the length of natural lashes and thickness, fullness, and health for longer-lasting, more beautiful extensions,” says Faith. “And it could also be a natural substitute for those who didn’t want extensions.”“It started as a hobby. We never really thought that it would grow to what it is today.”
“I have extremely sensitive skin, so safety and efficacy are my top priorities,” says Faith. “We consider ourselves a brand that is skincare for lashes and brows, and I wanted to infuse enriching serums into all our formulations and focus on creating head-turning, healthier, and restored-looking lashes over time. Our Phyto-Medic Complex, delivers nature’s most powerful ingredients to achieve clinically proven results in both lash and brow enhancers. Unlike many other enhancers, both formulas contain 99%+ natural & organic ingredients, don’t cause irritation and are paraben and prostaglandin free. LASHFOOD also contains equally nourishing and clean ingredients."

Meet Nichole founder of Dear Heart Designs
"I am a daughter of the Most High. Without Him, I'd be a broken mess. Jesus found me at my darkest and gave me new life. I know what it's like to be judged and burned at the stake. I know what it's like to feel like no one will understand or that you aren't worthy of love. But I also know what it's like to be loved more fiercely than you could ever imagine. I know what it's like to be forgiven of all of your wrongs and to be healed by grace and risen up by His steady hand. Because of all of this, I am one of the most compassionate people you will meet. I feel so fully the pain of others, and am drawn to those that are outcasted by others. I want to share the news of Jesus with them. I want to share my story and the things that have happened to me to let them know that everybody is capable of redemption. That our Father knows no stranger and that no sin is too great for His forgiveness and love.
That's why Dear Heart was born. Our pieces are meant to create moments in which you can share your real and raw testimony with another. We believe that being vulnerable opens up doors for other's to know Jesus."
We are so excited to carry Dear Heart Design Jewelry! It touched our hearts and we knew it would be a great encouragement to women no matter where they are in life.
Meet Alexis founder of Whipped Up Wonderful
"I'm Alexis, founder of Whipped Up Wonderful. I've been making handmade, customized bath treats since 2010.
I began making soaps and bath bombs out of an urge to create bath and body products that didn't have unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients. Each of my recipes is researched and refined until I find the perfect combination of skin loving, earth friendly ingredients. Even the packaging and wrapping are chosen based on their carbon footprint. I believe ingredients should be biodegradable and packaging should make as small an impact on the environment as possible." These are the dreamiest bath bombs you'll ever use!
